Dancing Sunset
This acrylic painting was based off the house on Hamilton rd. directly across the street from the art gallery. I enjoyed the image of the trees that were lined perfectly behind the house. I pulled the image from memory and added the sunset for effect.
A Charted Life
This acrylic painting was created to show how many aspects of life can be graphed. This image was based off an andex chart. The chart is meant to be interpreted as the viewer sees fit. There are many roads that we can take, and they will all take us somewhere else in life.
Pylons
This watercolour painting was made as a simple representation of pylons. They restrict us and warn us of the boundaries of life. I was interested in the idea of how powerful they really are, and what importance they have in daily life. The blue was added to contrast the orange as they are opposite and complimentary colours.
Teddy
This ink picture was made as an illustration of a demonic stuffed bear. It was made around the same time as the Half Dead Trilogy. The image was made while trying a new quill pen.
The Cliff Face
This acrylic painting was created in class at NCIVS. I created the picture as a landscape that shows and separates the water, land and trees. The cliff face has many different shapes similar to a Rorschach test. How many faces can you see?
Fairy in Love
This acrylic painting was meant to be a fun and romantic picture. The theme is fairly obvious, and is of a fairy in love with a butterfly.
Blue Fairy
This painting was created to remind me of the small miracles that happen in the worst of times. One morning I got an entire coffee and smoothie dumped on me just after getting up. It was a horrible start to the day, but I saw the remarkable image in the coffee splatter and made my day. I later made the painting to preserve the memory. Sometimes the worst situations provoke the best in us.
Lips
This acrylic painting was made to show a pair of passionate lips . The dry and wet brushstrokes were used to emphasise the motion.
Weeping Willow
This surreal watercolour willow tree was based off the willow trees that line the waterfront on Old Lakeshore rd. in Bright’s Grove, Ontario. It was meant to personify the sadness of the weeping willow and capture the essence of the lonely trees along the side of the road.
Tree of Life
This chalk painting was created in class at NCIVS. I created the picture to pay tribute to the dead and reincarnation of life. I believe the energy of past living things carries on through current life at an atomic level.
Generations
This acrylic painting was meant to be a powerful image of time. The man and child represent a new generation. The sun is setting on the old generation and old ways as the new generation faces the unknown, mysterious future masked by clouds. The city and industry represents how technology moves quickly, where nature will sustain through generations. The shadows resemble a sundial to enforce the idea of time passing.
Thinking Man
This watercolour painting was created to represent the process of deep thought. Sometimes when in deep negative thought, it would be nice just to remove the idea entirely and move on. We trap ourselves with pessimistic and negative thoughts, when we could just ignore them and live happily.
Kaylee's Tree
Kaylee’s tree was my first commissioned piece of art. This painting was made from watercolour, ink and acrylic. I do not claim to own the rights to idea for this image, as they were given to me from Kaylee Stanlick.
Venus Flytrap
This chalk painting was created to capture the power of female form. This is meant to be an empowering image enforced with strong vertical lines and royal colours. It was made with chalk to capture the soft features of the figure.
Northern Tree
This watercolour painting was created based off a landscape near Atikokan, Ontario. I sketched the image on my time off while tree planting. The dead tree clinging to the side of a rock showed how tough life was in the area. Although the tree is dead, there was much was alive and the scenery is quite breathtaking.
Bamboo Bonsai
This large scale acrylic painting was made as a tribute to bonsai trees. I have been around bonsai since I was little and always enjoyed the beauty of the shaped little trees. The image is made on bamboo curtain and has been modified to hang on a wall freely.
